The difference is in the details.
FlossCross is genuinely free with no hidden costs. But the 300x300 stitch limit catches stitchers mid-project, and the conversion algorithm uses photographed thread images rather than perceptual color math. Brodette's CIEDE2000 matching produces truer results from the same photo, especially for skin tones and subtle gradients. Add background removal that FlossCross doesn't have, and the quality gap becomes clear.
